Leon Rodriguez is a partner at Seyfarth Shaw, where he chairs the firm’s Government Relations Policy Group and is a founding member of its Immigration and Compliance practice, advising clients on investigations, enforcement matters, and visa disputes. He also chairs Seyfarth’s Health Care Regulatory and Compliance group and co-chairs its Health Care Privacy, Security and HIPAA group. From 2014 to 2017, he served in the Obama administration as Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), following a two-decade career as a federal and state prosecutor, law firm partner, and government agency leader. From 2011 to 2014, Rodriguez served as Director of the Office for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Rodriguez is a member of the Advisory Council for the Niskanen Center State Capacity USCIS Project.
