Richard Hahn

Richard Hahn is the Senior Program Manager in the Criminal Justice department. His research involves program evaluation and policy analysis through applied econometric methods. At Niskanen, Richard works to translate rigorous empirical evidence into viable solutions for policymakers and practitioners. Prior to joining Niskanen, Richard was a Research Scholar at New York University’s Marron Institute of Urban Management, where he served as Executive Director of the Crime and Justice Program. At NYU, he worked with agencies at all levels of government to pilot, evaluate, and implement novel responses to problems of crime, over-incarceration, policing, and drug use.

Richard received a B.A. in history from the University of South Carolina and an MPA from John Jay College and the CUNY Graduate Center. He is currently completing his dissertation in criminology at the University of Maryland.
