Shari May is the Associate Director of Development Strategy and Operations at the Niskanen Center, where she focuses on donor strategy and development operations. She leads efforts to strengthen fundraising systems, optimize donor engagement, and support data-driven decision-making across the development team.

Prior to joining the Niskanen Center, May managed institutional giving at Operation Gratitude and led a team of prospect researchers at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. She has also served as a consultant with Black Fox Global, helping align mission-driven nonprofits with sustainable funding opportunities. She earned a master’s degree in public administration from Virginia Tech and a bachelor’s degree in history from American University.
