Kaj Najee Gumbs is a Manager of Government Affairs for Social Policy at the Niskanen Center, where he works to advance the think tank’s approaches to housing, healthcare, and transportation.

Gumbs previously worked as a government affairs associate at a client-centered lobbying firm focused on state, county, and municipal government funding and community development. Before that, he worked in legislative and constituent services roles in the office of former U.S. Rep. G.K. Butterfield (D-NC). Gumbs earned a law degree from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Morehouse College.
