WASHINGTON, D.C. January 13, 2021 — Today, the House votes to impeach President Donald Trump for a second time, charging him with “incitement of insurrection” at the Capitol. He is the first President in our nation’s history to face impeachment twice.

Five House Republicans have publicly supported the resolution, and we commend their leadership. House Republicans should follow their patriotic and resolute commitment to our democracy.

“The events at the Capitol and the President’s failure to take mitigating action is an extraordinary betrayal of the office and our democracy,” said Jerry Taylor, Niskanen’s President. “We must impeach President Trump,” Taylor concluded.
